Water, one of the basic elements in this world, has a soothing effect. The sight of a waterfall, combined with calming greeneries, is bound to mesmerize the beholder. Located in Cisarua Village, approximately 10 kilometers from Cimahi, or about an hour from Bandung, Curug (Sundanese for "waterfall") Cimahi is suitable for people who want to "escape" from metropolitan area but have little time to travel. The 85 meters high waterfall is indeed a magnificent sight.

Getting There

Rent a car to visit this wonderful spot.
You can also use public transportation heading to Cimahi-Lembang or Cimahi-Cihanjuang.
With a minimal fee, you are free to explore this site. It will take just 30 minutes walk to the waterfall. The sight of the green shrubs and trees will greet you as you become nearer and nearer to Curug Cimahi.

You can stay in hotels or inns in Bandung or Cimahi.

The site is relatively small, so you can explore it on foot.

Travel Tips

Make sure that you are fit when you want to visit this site. While walking to Curug Cimahi is relatively easy (you'll be going downhill), upon returning you might face some difficulties in walking uphill.
Be extra careful with your possessions when you spot the monkeys. They are naturally afraid of humans, yet when opportunity exists, they'll grab your belongings in a flash!
Wear appropriate clothes (cotton, for instance) and comfortable shoes. During rainy season (October-April) it is best to carry an umbrella or a raincoat, just in case.
Bring your own water to avoid dehydration.
Bring extra clothes and towels, also a bathing suit, if you're interested in immersing yourself in the water.
Throw away your rubbish on the rubbish bins. If they're too far from your location, put your rubbish in a plastic and throw it on a bin later.
